Making of: THUTOAH

Suzanne Treister worked with four scientists: John Ellis, Alessandra Gnecchi, Wolfgang Lerche and Rik van Breukelen to explore the Holographic Principle.

“The central work of THUTOAH is an experimental video. Echoing the methodology of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN it tests my theory by accelerating centuries of art history into several minutes, projecting over 25,000 works chronologically at 25 images-per-second in a looped sequence. Alongside the video I am also showing a series of artworks made by the four theoretical particle physicists I interviewed at CERN, describing the holographic principle, and the recorded discussions form the soundtrack of the video.” Suzanne Treister
